The Moscow Helsinki Group is a Russian non-governmental organisation that seeks to protect human rights and assist in the development of civil society in Russia. To achieve this, the group exposes human rights violations and works to ensure compliance with Russia’s human rights obligations under Russian and international law.

The Moscow Prison Oversight Commission is a Moscow-based watchdog organisation empowered by law with monitoring human rights in Russian detention centres.
